Why me, Why not me?

UNEEK Magazine was born with my frustration and disillusionment with what was on offer each month at the newsagents. I got annoyed at having to buy a variety of magazines to satisfy my multicultural interests. I was fed up with the mono cultural portrayal of women. Where were the real women, the real issues affecting them, and the diverse and culturally rich world that I live in? It certainly was not shown there in the bundle of magazines sitting on the passenger seat of my car.

As a wife and mother I am busy juggling various demands – often simultaneously. Planning dinner in the car as I taxi the kids to and from school or sport, or pegging out a load of washing while I talk on the telephone. There was never enough time each month to pick through numerous magazines to find the articles that interest me. I am fully aware of this but it doesn’t stop me from buying this monthly collection and I continue to do it month after month!

I asked myself three years ago why there couldn’t be just one magazine with everything that I wanted in it. I could create a multicultural magazine that celebrated womanhood in all its sizes, colours, shapes and dispositions.

Following many months of hard work, researching and creating the perfect multicultural magazine, UNEEK was born.

I don’t regret asking “Why not me?

I’m proud of the content you will find between the cover and hope you too will embrace and enjoy the first Multicultural women’s Magazine for all Australian women. This is truly a UNEEK Experience!
